Cub Scouts

This is the second section within scouting and is for 8 to 11 year olds.  They can join our pack from 7 years and 8 months.

Activities

Cubs is all about fun & friends. Each week the beavers take part in activities to help towards gaining badges whilst having great fun playing games and learning new skills.  Typical weekly activities include playing games and learning campfire songs.  We also go out on occasional visits to museums, temples, castles, camp sites and other exciting places.  Nearly all of our activities also count towards badge work; some for activity badges and some towards challenge badges.  The highest award in the cub section is the Chief Scouts Silver award which we encourage all of our cub scouts to aim for.

Meeting Time

Cubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm until 8.30pm.

Costs

Our group is sponsored by St. Peters Catholic Church who most generously provide us with our meeting room each week free of charge.  This enables us to help keep our subscription costs lower.  We do ask all members of the group to help acknowledge this by attending occasional church parades as our way of saying thank you to the church; nearly all other groups have to pay for meeting room hire.
