Beaver Scouts

This is the youngest section within scouting and is for 6 to 8 year olds.  They can join our colony from 5 years and 9 months.

This is currently the largest section within the 43rd group and we currently have a waiting list for Beavers.  You can also apply to put you son or daughter on our list before this age with it being so popular!

Beavers is all about fun & friends. Each week the beavers take part in activities to help towards gaining badges whilst having great fun playing games and learning new skills.  Typical weekly activities include playing games and learning campfire songs.  We also go out on occasional visits to museums, temples, castles, camp sites and other exciting places.  Nearly all of our activities also count towards badge work; some for activity badges and some towards challenge badges.  The highest award in the beaver section is the Chief Scouts Bronze award which we encourage all of our beaver scouts to aim for.

Meeting Time

Beavers meet on Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm until 7.00pm.

Our group is sponsored by St. Peters Catholic Church who most generously provide us with our meeting room each week free of charge.  This enables us to help keep our subscription costs lower.  We do ask all members of the group to help acknowledge this by attending occasional church parades as our way of saying thank you to the church; nearly all other groups have to pay for meeting room hire.
