Our new Parents Rota page has now been updated with upcoming programme information for the Scouts section (Beavers and Cubs to follow soon).
Parents can help provide us with vital assistance to help keep the sections running smoothly. Don’t panic at this point as you don’t have to become a uniformed leader! We are grateful for parents help in many other ways. Some examples of how you can help are:
- Helping to run a game.
- Assisting with badge work.
- Providing a short talk or demonstration of an interesting subject or skill,
perhaps connected with your vocation or hobby. - Making refreshments for our young people during the evening.
- Running the tuck shop (we haven’t got one yet!)
- Helping when we take a section on an outing or visit.
You can help once a year, once a quarter, once a month, every week – basically whenever is convenient for you. All we ask is that you try to let us know in advance when you can help so that your good will isn’t wasted. We have provided an email link on the Parents Rota page to make it really easy for you to volunteer.
“If you have ever taken anything out of scouting, please try to put something back. That way it will always continue for the next generation.”
